Travel and tourism grow in the Sun City

It's National Travel and Tourism week and that's creating a lot of excitement surrounding El Paso's economy. 'Destination El Paso' released details showing A strong the travel and tourism industry..
 
Last year, more than 2.8 million visitors spent $1.7 billion in El Paso and more than 12,000 jobs were generated.

"Really great numbers for our first quarter," said  Brian Crowe, General Manager for Destination El Paso. "Talking about some of the success of our venues. More than 600 events here downtown. Talking about the success of just the last week 72,000 folks in the downtown area in the last week alone with the baseball opening and events here at the convention campus. Just a really exciting time to be in El Paso".
