Sun Metro Brio Construction Update

Construction of the Sun Metro Brio Rapid Transit System is moving forward along the Mesa Street Corridor.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, crews will be performing the first of two construction phases at the following stations which will serve Brio’s Mesa corridor:

• Hague outbound (northbound on Oregon at Hague)

• Glory Road outbound (northbound on Oregon at Glory Road)

• Festival inbound (southbound on Mesa at Festival)

IMPACTS TO SUN METRO SERVICE

Two bus stops will be temporarily deactivated effective tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 25, to prepare the sites.

They are:
• Mesa near Festival (inbound/southbound)

• Oregon near Hague (outbound/northbound)

Alternate bus stops for the impacted stops are as follows:

Mesa near Festival (when traveling south toward Downtown)

– Mesa in front of the Pepper Tree Square shopping center (Route 15)

– Festival at Mardi Gras Drive (Route 14)

– 5547 Mesa in front of medical offices (Route 15)

Oregon near Hague (if traveling north toward the Glory Road)

– Oregon between Rim and Schuster (Routes 10, 11, 14, 15, 70 & 204)

– Oregon at Schuster (Routes 11, 14, 15)

– Oregon at University (Routes 10, 14, 15, 70, 75 & 204)

IMPACTS TO MOTORISTS, PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS

The left-hand sidewalk will be closed on the following streets:

• Northbound Oregon between Glory Road and Cincinnati

• Northbound Oregon between Rim and Hague

The right-hand sidewalk and right-hand traffic lane will be closed on the following street:
• Southbound Mesa between Festival and Paragon

Sun Metro apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience.

Phase 1 construction for the following stations is ongoing:

• Franklin outbound (eastbound on Franklin at N. El Paso Street)

• Hague inbound (southbound on Oregon at Hague)

• Balboa inbound (southbound on Mesa near Balboa)

Phase 1 construction for the following stations has been completed:

• Glory Road inbound (southbound on Oregon at Glory Road)

• Franklin inbound (westbound on Franklin at Santa Fe)

• Montecillo inbound (southbound on Mesa at Montecillo)

• Argonaut outbound (northbound on Mesa at Argonaut)
