Tucson, Ariz. — Tuesday marks the second anniversary of the tragic shooting that killed six people and wounded 13 others, including former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Giffords was at a political event outside a grocery store in Tucson, Ariz. when shooter Jared Lee Loughner opened fire.
Giffords was shot in the head and spent several months in the hospital and in a rehab facility.
During an emotional appearance on the house floor, Giffords resigned from Congress last January.
In August, Loughner pleaded guilty to 19 federal charges under an agreement that guarantees he will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
