El Paso police said Alejandro Gomez, 23 and Alberto Lopez, 37 drove to the 7-11 store at 9370 North Loop.  According to police, at 11:02 p.m. Thursday, Gomez entered the store, met with the clerk, pointed an object at the clerk and demanded money. They said Gomez was given an undisclosed amount of money and then demanded two packs of cigarettes and an additional carton of cigarettes. Gomez then allegedly met up with Lopez who was waiting on the side of the store. Police said the men ran to a silver pickup truck that they had parked in the back of the store.
That’s where police said they confronted the duo. Gomez allegedly ran, but police said he was caught about a minute later after jumping several fences.
The men are both in jail charged with robbery. Their mug shots have not been released.
