Austin, Texas (KDBC) — Landscapers at the University of Texas at Austin think the school may be the target of a plant prank from their rival, Texas A&M.
Maroon bluebonnets popped up in the flower bed around the UT tower this season. That happens to be Texas A&M's colors.
The flowers stand out from the blue blooms the school planted. No one's confessed to planting the flowers, but several years ago Texas A&M researchers were able to develop maroon bluebonnets.
Workers will start collecting the seeds of these flowers to keep them from spreading.
