UPDATE: EPPD say man, woman stabbed during fight at Northeast motel

UPDATE: El Paso Police say a woman in her 30's and a 29-year-old man were both stabbed following a fight with one another at a Northeast El Paso motel.

Investigators on the scene told NewsChannel 9 the pair is in custody at University Medical Center, and clarified that both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police were called to the Colonia Motor Hotel at 7601 Dyer Street around 7:20 Tuesday evening.

Investigators said when they arrived, the male suspect tried to run but only got as far as the median on Dyer.

Police have not said how the man and woman know each other or who will be facing charges.


ORIGINAL STORY: El Paso Emergency dispatchers confirm that two people have been taken to area hospitals after being stabbed in Northeast El Paso Tuesday night.

The first emergency call came in at 7:23 p.m. in the 8600 block of Dyer. As emergency crews were en route to the first call, a second call came in seven minutes later at 7:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of Dyer.

Emergency crews responded to both scenes and took one person to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Dispatchers confirmed that a second person was also transported to the hospital, but could not give any information on the condition of the second patient.

At this time, police are investigating near the Colonia Motor Hotel, located at 8601 Dyer St. A Local 4 News Crew is at the scene and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.
