EL PASO (KDBC) — A 25-year-old man was in jail after police said he shot and killed his mother-in-law in Northeast El Paso.
Police said Armando Munoz got into a fight with his wife at the home on Sirius Drive and West Line at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
The fight escalated and they said Munoz pulled out a gun and fired it, hitting 47-year-old Bobbi Hackney in the torso.
Paramedics rushed Hackney to the hospital where she died.
Police said Munoz ran away from the home, but officers found him nearby and arrested him.
They charged Munoz with murder and assault family violence. His bond is set at more than a $1,000,000.
This is the ninth murder this year, compared to 22 the same time last year.
