WASHINGTON D.C. — The U.S. spends more on immigration enforcement than on the FBI, the DEA, and all other criminal law enforcement agencies combined. That's according to a new report just released by the Migration Policy Institute, which says $187 billion has been spent on federal immigration enforcement over the past 26 years. Almost 430,000 people were detained in the immigration detention system last year. Deportations have also reached record highs with more than four million people being removed from the U.S. since 1990.
