El Paso, TX (KDBC) — UTEP students will soon have more housing options. A $23 million student housing complex will break ground in the next two weeks. Officials say it will sit on a 6 point 2-acre site behind the Helen of Troy Softball Complex off Sun Bowl Drive that overlooks an arroyo.
"The buildings will have elevators, lobbies, lounges, study rooms and laundry facilities. Student housing on the campus is a big part of UTEP transformation all the research shows student housing on campus helps students succeed, achieve their degrees more efficiently and so on, and there's a high demand among our students now for on campus housing," said UTEP President Diana Natalicio.
The campus master plan will be completed by 2015.
