EL PASO (KDBC) — It didn't take long for UTEP women's basketball fans to get the line going for WNIT Championship tickets.
Miner supporters immediately rushed the University ticket office following the team's 66-63 Final Four victory against South Dakota State.
UTEP will play Rutgers in Saturday's final at 1 p.m. at the Don Haskins Center. University officials said a previous scheduling conflict at the arena has been resolved.
Wednesday's night's game marked the first time the UTEP women sold out all 12,222 seats at Haskins.
"The way people came out, it's just so awesome," said Miner fan Jaime Arrieta, who made the drive from Alamogordo. "I'm so proud of El Paso."
Loyal UTEP women's fans were rewarded with some of the best seats in the house.
Sitting courtside, season ticket-holder Michael Swopes said the the team's run, coupled with the new Chihuahuas baseball park, has made it an exciting time to be a Sun City sports fan.
"Without a doubt, El Paso's got nothing but good going on when it comes to sports," he said.
General Admission tickets for Saturday's game are $15, according to UTEP officials.
