Student-athletes from the New Mexico State University women's basketball and football teams took part in the United Way National Day of Action on Tuesday, June 21.
Aggie athletes read to young students at Johnson Park in front of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library in Las Cruces. The players interacted with the students by discussing the books and posing for group photos after the two-hour event.
Every year on June 21, United Way invites people to take action in their communities. Last year, there were more than 74,000 individuals volunteering at more than 400 projects focused on education, income, and health in all fifty states. This year there was a major focus on improving education.
