EL PASO--- Help, hope, and healing for crime victims. That was the goal behind a walk across El Paso Sunday.
The 20-mile long walked started at 4:00 A.M. Sunday morning in West El Paso, and ended more than 7 hours later at Yucca Park on the East side.
Hundreds of people walked holding signs to remember friends and loved ones.
The family of 16-year-old Aaron Carrillo took part in this morning's walk.
Carrillo and his friend Jon Cervoni were killed by a drunk driver three months ago on Loop 375.
Carrillo's family says the community support helps them heal.
"I would have like to see more people here for Aaron and Jon but it's great to see the community come out like this I was shocked to see how many people walked the whole 20 miles. It feels good it's that support that lifts us and keeps us going," said Ashley Carrillo, Aaron's sister.
The walk helped raise awareness about a special event to benefit crime victims. It will take place next Saturday at the Region 19 Education Service Center.
