The UTEP men's golf team notched a ninth-place showing at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, which ended on Tuesday in Las Cruces.
The Miners' team total of 878 featured rounds of 292, 295 and 291.
UNLV captured the title (272-271-275-818) at the 14-team tournament.
Nine Miner players participated in the tournament, with Luke Ovenden tying for 14th place (70-72-70-212), Jerry Castrellon tying for 30th place (77-69-72-218), Devin Miertschin tying for 35th place (73-74-72-219), Ryan Fioretti tying for 38th place (74-70-76-220), Ross Rotwein tying for 55th place (77-72-75-224), Jere Pelletier tying for 65th place (73-80-74-227), David Persons (76-77-76-229) and Jacob Loya (74-80-75-229) tying for 71st place, and Fili Cruz tying for 76th place (78-77-76-231).
UTEP concluded its fall season. The Miners will open their spring slate at the Ping Arizona Intercollegiate Jan. 30-31 in Tucson.
