EL PASO - Insights Museum hosted "Night at the Oscars" at the Plaza Theater on Sunday to raise money for new exhibits.
Several hundred El Pasoans attended and the museum was hoping to raise $40,000 to expand and bring in new exhibits.
The museum rolled out the red carpet and gave lots of El Pasoans the opportunity to receive the Hollywood treatment.
"How often do you get to dress up and something so special like the Oscars, it's a wonderful event," said Sonia Alvarado as she enjoyed her walk down the red carpet.
In attendance was El Pasoan Anna Causey, mother of an Academy Award nominee. Her daughter, Hanks High School graduate Gigi Causey was nominated for her film Time Freak in the Live Action Short Film category.
"It's such an honor, for the last two weeks I've been such a celebrity and I'm only the mom," Anna Causey said. "My most happiest moment was when she was born and this is my most honorable moment."
Unfortunately Gigi's film Time Freak didn't win the Oscar. The award for best live action short film went to The Shore.
