It's all part of a plan to expand internet domain name options. The non-profit group that oversees web addresses began the application process for new endings last year. Over 1,900 proposals for new domain names were submitted.
The hottest new domain on the list was ".web," drawing seven applications.
The first new domains are expected to go live early next next year.
