Voters: Should the City Repeal Decision to Demolish City Hall?
EL PASO — A total of 1,635 signatures on a "Save City Hall" petition may delay the demolition of City Hall to make room for the Triple-A baseball stadium scheduled to open in 2014.
News Channel 9 spoke with City Clerk Richarda Duffy Momsen, who certifed the petition and signatures Thursday afternoon.
The demolition of City Hall will now go before voters in May if it's approved by city council. Council representatives can reject the initiative.
They will discuss it at their next meeting, Tuesday, Dec. 4.
City Hall is scheduled to demolished in April.
