It's official the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is pregnant.
Prince William's office released a short statement today confirming the news that the pregnancy is still in very early stages.
The statement said that she was admitted to a London hospital this morning for severe morning sickness.
No other details were released.
There has been speculation nearly from day-one of their marriage that Kate was pregnant.
Media and Royal watchers paid close attention to Kate's every move and the rumors intensified this fall during the Royal couple's trip overseas.
During the trip the Duchess politely declined to drink champagne at two public engagements. Recently Prince William talked with well-wishers about the couple's desire for a family.
The pregnancy comes just more than a year and a half since the royal couple captivated the world with their wedding in London.
The new baby will become third in line to the throne, following grandfather Prince Charles and father Prince William.
There's no word yet on a due date.
