Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent, the driver in a car crash that killed teammate Jerry Brown, will not be allowed on the sidelines for the remainder of the season. Brent was on the sidelines for the Cowboys game against the Steelers sunday. He apparently came to the stadium at the urging of some teammates.
Brent's presence immediately sparked a debate about whether it was appropriate for him to be there since he was charged with intoxication manslaughter following the fatal accident two weeks ago. When Brent realized it was becoming an issue... he left the stadium in the third quarter.
According to reports, neither the league nor team officials knew Brent would be at the game and will not allow him back.
At the memorial for her son, Jerry Brown's mother asked Cowboys team members to support Brent and keep him involved with the team. The cowboys have stated their support of Brent while condemning the practice driving under the influence.
Brent is due in court Tuesday for a bond hearing in his case.
