EL PASO, Texas — The Eastridge neighborhood in East El Paso is known for it's Christmas lights. People from across town go to see the glowing trees, stars and characters. With only one way in and out of the neighborhood, traffic often gets backed up.
Most residents of Eastridge try to look past the traffic and see the positive side.
"It brings the holiday spirit to everyone," said Eastridge resident, Mary Mathis. "It just makes you feel special inside. All of the lights you get to go around and see all the lights. It just makes everyone happy."
Nearly every homeowner decorates in the neighborhood. According to Mathis, it's frowned upon to not decorate.
"People kinda look down at you if you don't do it, but everyone tries to get everyone in the holiday spirit and help each other out if nobody has lights and decorations or anything," Mathis said.
