EL PASO — A man is murdered in central El Paso nearly three years ago and the killer is still on the run.
Police said someone attacked Elias Perez in a parking lot on Alameda near U.S. 54 sometime on February 5 or 6 of 2011.
He died from his injures a few days later.
Police said he was a field worker from New Mexico and visited El Paso often.
"He came to El Paso frequently...was believed to have been living out of his van there at the parking lot of the Stagecoach Motel. Mr. Perez used to visit a lot of the bars around the area of 4100 Alameda. He was familiar with that area. Also, he had friends nearby that he would often visit. From the information we have at this time, we also know that Mr. Perez used to carry large amounts of money," said Javier Sambrano with El Paso Police Department.
Police have not determined a motive for the killing.
