EL PASO — The 7th Annual El Paso marathon is Sunday and on Saturday, El Paso welcomed all the runners.
The El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted the Marathon Expo at the Convention Center. With more than 30 vendors, the expo is the place to find information on all things marathon. This was also the last time for runners to register for the race.
Organizers expect to have 2,300 people register for the races.
“We're really excited. We have people from 38 different states that travel to El Paso to be part of our race," said Race Director Mike Coulter.
"I'm looking forward to the run tomorrow. It's going to be a beautiful day and the El Paso community always puts on a good race," said Runner Carolyn Birchfield.
The full marathon starts at the top of Transmountain Road at 7 a.m. Sunday. The half marathon starts on Anthony Street in front of Union Plaza Park at 7 a.m. and the 5K starts at the same place at 7:10 a.m.
