EL PASO — Families in Northeast El Paso have a new place to learn how to swim or just cool off this summer.
The Bowling Family YMCA unveiled its newly renovated aquatic facility Saturday.
For the last six months, crews have been working to replace the roof and remodel the pool.
The new pool isn't as deep as the old one. They did that so kids of all ages can take advantage.
“We want to teach more children how to swim. Last year, the YMCA reached almost 9,000 children with swimming lessons and water safety and we want to see that number go well over 11,000 this year and we know with this new aquatic center, we stand a really good chance at doing that," said Kevin Pearson.
