DOÑA ANA COUNTY (KDBC) — Family of the Dona Ana County Community College instructor who died after being hit by a car are now suing the driver and the university.
According to court records, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed earlier this month for the death of Lucy Montes Sandoval.
Family is suing Catherine Parra and the NMSU Board of Regents. Arra was driving an NMSU vehicle when she hit Montes-Sandoval on the west part of campus in January.
After a week in the hospital, the DACC instructor passed away. Parra was believed to be driving distracted, but the district attorney's office did not seek criminal charges.
