Anthony, TX (KDBC) — Election day is Saturday and the future is uncertain for the town of Anthony, Texas.
Longtime Mayor Art Franco pleaded guilty on charges of tampering with governmental records earlier this week.
Franco is running unopposed on the ballot and it's too late to add or remove any names from the ballot.
He said, he's not resigning and never said he planned on doing it.
Also, he's on a gag order and will talk about the issue when he's able.
If Franco resigns or is elected, then found ineligible, the city will declare the position vacant and they'll hold a special election.
