EL PASO, (KDBC) — It's back to business as usual for the El Paso Independent School District. The new board of managers are holding their first official meeting since they were sworn in last week.
The board was sworn in last Tuesday after being appointed by the Texas Education Agency. This board replaced the board that was in place when a widepsread cheating scandal was uncovered in the district.
The new board was expected to discuss several items, including employment employment contracts for teachers, librarians and nurses. Also to be discussed were construction contracts and expenses for new school equipment and maintenance, in addition to an update on the 2013-2014 district budget.
EPISD board spokesperson Dee Margo said he expected it to be a busy meeting but they were ready to roll up their sleeves and start repairing the district.
