Santa Fe, NM (KDBC) — State Park officials announced Wednesday that Fenton Lake State Park will remain closed indefinitely due to extreme fire danger.
The park was initially closed on June 4th so helicopters could access the lake to bring water to fight the Thompson Ridge Fire in the Santa Fe National Forest.
The Thompson fire was first reported on May 31st.
Fire officials said the fire has reached 5,000 acres in size. The fire is now 90% contained.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
