El Paso, TX (KDBC) — Eleven railroad crossings in El Paso will undergo several changes.
The City of El Paso has partnered up with Union Pacific Railroad to help change the noise in several neighborhoods.
This new project would require the permanent railroad closures of the following crossings: Estrella Street, Cebada Street, Boone Street, and Cadwallader Drive.
The following railroad crossings will remain open but undergo upgrades to include median and new crossing arms: San Marcial Street, Grama Street, Copia Street, Chelsea Street, Glenwood Drive, Concepcion Street, and Clark Drive.
There are several community meetings scheduled to discuss this new project:
Monday, July 15, 2013, at 5:30pm. San Juan Senior Center, 5701 Tamburo Ct.
Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 5:30pm. Bowie High School, 801 S. San Marcial St.
Saturday, July 20, 2013, at noon. Carolina Recreation Center, 563 N. Carolina Dr.
Monday, July 22, 2013, at 6pm. Riverside High School. 301 Midway Dr.
Construction is expected to begin in December 2013.
