EL PASO, TX (KDBC) — Construction was moving along quickly at El Paso's baseball stadium as crews work to complete the facility in time for the beginning of the 2014 season.
El Paso's engineering department said construction was moving along as scheduled. They also said residents would also start seeing more of the building above ground in the coming weeks.
"We've spent the last several weeks, months in fact, putting the retaining wall that you see behind you," Project Engineer Alan Shubert said. "Which is more than 20 feet high putting in 560 out of 570 drill peers, piles that will support the stadium. We're almost completely done with that operation. You see some foundation work going on now and if you notice to your right, kind of the first vertical elements going in, the columns are going to start going in, the walls are going to start going in."
The El Paso Triple A baseball stadium is scheduled for completion in April 2014.
