Carlsbad Caverns National Park, NM (KDBC) — Most of the region was under a flood watch Wednesday, and while we didn't see severe weather in the El Paso area, Carlsbad Caverns did. Visitors had to be evacuated from the cave and the visitor center this afternoon because of flooding along
Walnut Canyon Park Road.
The national park was closed to visitors for much afternoon. Park officials say the area received more than two and a half inches of rain. The road is now passable.
