The trial for former El Paso County Judge Anthony Cobos has been postponed.
His trial was set to begin August 26th, but has now been moved to September 9th. The defense and prosecutors both agreed to the delay.
Cobos is charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and the deprivation of honest services. Cobos along with co-conspirator Lorenzo Aguilar allegedly schemed to award a contract to Bear Stearns. The county at the time was accepting bids from financial service companies to refinance 40 million dollars in county debt.
