SANTA FE, N.M. (KDBC) — Investigators were trying to determine what caused a helicopter crash in northeast New Mexico.
State police said a government helicopter from Illinois crashed near Amistad, New Mexico, about 200 miles from Santa Fe, at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
There were two people onboard, but they only had minor injuries.
The helicopter was destroyed.
The Federal Aviation Administration, New Mexico State Police and The Union County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
