El Paso, TX (KDBC) — In light of the recent demand for city officials to be more transparent with city business related emails, Mayor Oscar Leeser has released his letters to and from MountainStar Sports Group.
The letters are regarding MountainStar Sports Group's proposal to cover the anticipated additional $10m costs for the ballpark.
MountainStar Sports Group had agreed to cover the extra $10m as long as the terms of the agreement change. Some of those proposed changes to the agreement include that the city pay for projects that will better integrate the ballpark into the neighborhood. Another suggested change gives the MountainStar Sports Group control and final say over the ballpark schedule, project plans and ballpark budget.
In the letter to MountainStar Sports Group, Mayor Oscar Leeser said that he does not approve any of the proposed agreement changes and believes the MountainStar Sports Group should pay for the extra $10m on their own, separate of the city.
The Mayor and City Officials will not not make any further comment on this issue until Monday afternoon.
Letters are attached.
