EL PASO, TX — Tuesday, October 1st will be the last day that the El Paso Water Utilities (EPWU) will be distributing sandbags at their satellite locations. The EPWU satellite offices are open throughout the monsoon season annually to assist customers with flood control purposes. EPWU says that these satellite locations will reopen next summer.
The Stormwater Operations Center, located at 4801 Fred Wilson is open year-round and customers can get sandbags Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday October 2nd.
EPWU says that sandbags are used for flood control purposes and customers are limited to 15 sandbags per visit. Those who have difficulty lifting heavy items are encouraged to come with someone who is able to assist with loading and unloading the bags.
