El Paso, TX (KDBC) — If you went out with the family for Friday Night Football, you may have noticed a drop in temperature about halfway through the game.
But the cold weather didn't stop fans from cheering for their teams.
Football fanatics at the El Paso versus Burges High School game wore not only blankets and sweaters, but also big smiles.
They said they didn't let the change in weather ruin their plans because it actually felt more like football season.
"Well, I actually like it because it's supposed to be a good game so while you're watching a good game and it's cold, you don't really mind the cold weather," said Paulina Gonzalez.
"We just came a little bit prepared just in case it gets a little bit cold, which we are expecting it to get a little cold, but, like I said, with hot chocolate in your hand, you forget all of that," said Marcela Quintana.
A cold front dove into El Paso kicking down temperatures some 15 degrees. The winds also started up - this just days after the Borderland had warm weather.
The entire weekend will be feeling like Fall, so you'll have to keep a light jacket handy if you're headed outdoors.
Saturday night is expected to get especially chilly.
