El Paso, TX — Anthony Rotich placed first in the Miners’ first big test of the season at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday.
All-American Rotich led the men’s team to a 13th-place finish crossing the finish line with a time of 24:18.6.
Newcomer Cosmas Boit posted a time of 24:40.0, while Elphas Maiyo clocked in at 24:42.9. Solomon Gardear completed the course with a time of 26:53.0. Ryan Saenz finished the race at 27:52.1.
Laura Delgado was the women’s top performer as she crossed the line in 20:43.3. FreshmanTruphena Sum was the second Miner to complete the race with a time of 20:45.9.
The Miners will be back on the road on Saturday, Oct. 19 as they head to NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
