CNN — Thousands of people remain off the job, as the government shutdown continues.
The shutdown affects many of us and already people are feeling the stress, but doctors say there are ways to cope with the stress.
Experts recommend you stay with a schedule, remain active, get exercise, eat well and don't sit around thinking of things that may or may not happen.
Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Gregory Jones, says, "If you allow yourself to do that, that can lead to heightened levels of anxiety, which can also lead to depression and symptoms of clinical depression."
Experts also recommend doing something you've really wanted to try and haven't had the time to do.
If your stress is over money, take this break to really look at your finances and put together a family budget. Look at how you can save some money, should this ever happen again.
