El Paso, TX (KDBC) — According to the El Paso Police Department, a man died while in their custody Sunday.
Police received a call about a possible domestic disturbance at a home on North Mesa and East California in Central El Paso. When they arrived at 4:30 a.m., police said a 36-year-old man was yelling and screaming outside the home and then became aggressive towards the officers. Investigators said the man tried to resist arrest but was eventually handcuffed and taken to the Central Regional Command station. On the way downtown, police say the man became unresponsive and officers tried to revive him until paramedics arrived. An ambulance took the man to Las Palmas hospital where he died. Police are investigating.
