Santa Fe, NM (KTSM) — The New Mexico Department of Public Safety’s Forensic Bureau is hosting the 35th Annual Southwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (SWAFS) Conference this Sunday through Wednesday.
The conference will be held at the Eldorado Hotel, 309 W. San Francisco St., Santa Fe.
The keynote speaker at the conference will be the Honorable Edward L. Chavez from the New Mexico Supreme Court.
Forensic scientists, students, researchers and other experts from across the United States will be in attendance.
Some of the workshops will center on Courtroom Challenges for Forensic Scientists, the Recovery and Identification of Human Skeletal Remains and Contemporary Issues in Drunk Driving and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs.
The closing keynote speaker will be Department of Public Safety Cabinet Secretary Gorden E. Eden, Jr.
