El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — Isaac Hamilton won't be playing basketball at UCLA this season. An appeals committee refused to void his letter of intent with UTEP.
Hamilton, a highly recruited guard, signed with UTEP last November then asked to be released from that contract saying he needed to play at a school closer to his ailing grandmother.
UTEP denied that release and the letter of intent committee did not find cause to void the contract.
Hamilton can still practice with UCLA and can play in games next season but will have just three years of college eligibility.
