The El Paso Auto Theft Task Force has arrested and charged three men with Engaging In Organized Criminal Activity Theft. Police said the arrests are the result of an on-going investigation into the Theft of Vehicles that occurred on Feb. 10 & 11, 2014.
Investigators said they identified that Agustin Reyes, Eduardo Martinez, and Luis Camarena as the men who were allegedly working together to commit the thefts, which occurred over a twelve hour period.
Investigators said they were able to recover two of the vehicles described as a black 2012 Chevrolet Silverado and a dark blue 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. One of the vehicles a silver 2013 Chevrolet has not been found.
During the investigation, police said Martinez was driving the unrecovered 2013 Silverado when he attempted to run over two auto theft investigators. All three men were booked into the El Paso County Jail.
Martinez was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, and EIOCA – Theft. Reyes was charged with Theft Over $20,000.00 – Under $100,000.00 and EIOCA-Theft and Camarena was charged with EIOCA-Theft.
Auto Theft Investigators said they are continuing their investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
