It will be a trivia question for generations... who got the first hit, and scored the first run, in Chihuahuas team history? Answer: Reymond Fuentes. The leftfielder scored in the first inning off a Kyle Blanks shot up the middle, which hit the Reno pitcher by the way, giving El Paso a 1-0 lead... and the Chihuahuas never looked back, winning 7-5. Fuentes finished 3-6 with two runs scored, while Jeff Francoeur hit the first home run in team history, finishing 2-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Juan Pablo Oramas gave up three runs in three innings, but the Chihuahuas pounded out 17 hits and seven runs for a 7-5 win.

The Chihuahuas are on the road for nearly four weeks, opening Pacific Coast League play as the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres at Reno for a four game series, then the team travels to Tacoma, before moving on to Tucson where they will 'host' Reno at Kino Stadium.
