Chihuahuas split series with OKC

Tyler Greene’s sixth inning double brought home El Paso’s only two runs Saturday in the Chihuahuas 10-2 loss to the Oklahoma City RedHawks. The Chihuahuas won two of the four games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks scored seven earned runs on 14 hits against starter Robbie Erlin, who went 4.2 innings in his Chihuahuas debut. Oklahoma City scored at least one run in four of their first five innings. Eight of the nine Oklahoma City starters had at least one hit. The RedHawks collected 18 hits as a team. RedHawks starter Nick Tropeano allowed two runs in his six inning start, the only runs he’s allowed in his last 17 innings of work.

Rocky Gale went 2-for-3 in the loss, pushing his batting average to .307. El Paso’s Stephen Kohlscheen, who is from Oklahoma, pitched 1.1 scoreless innings Saturday night. Sunday begins the Chihuahuas final road series of the season.
