Franklin travelled to East El Paso to show they are better than their record suggests Thursday night when they handed Socorro their first loss of the season, 50-14, in the District opener for both teams at the Student Activities Complex.

The Cougars opened the game with three unanswered touchdowns before the Bulldogs answered in the 2nd quarter with a 12 yard touchdown by QB Adam Chavira.

However Franklin QB Cameron Candelaria responded with a 68 yard touchdown pass to Michael Coleman before halftime.
