The El Paso chapter of the Pan American Golf Association is one of forty three chapters scattered throughout nine states across the country. Spanning 45 cities and with over 4000 members, PAGA is the largest amateur golf association in the United States.

The El Paso PAGA is holding their nationals, starting this week and ending August 1 all over El Paso.

The El Paso PAGA is a non-profit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes as well as for the promotion of amateur golf and education through scholarships, combing with First Tee of El Paso to give scholarships to local golfers.

"It gives us a chance to showcase our golf courses. We've got some really nice golf courses out here and good golf pros and I'm glad to get it every 5 or 6 years. I think it's a great thing for us and for El Paso," said Ascarate golf pro Mike Smith.
