This wasn't the prettiest game in Cowboys history, but it was effective, as Dallas defeated Cincinnati, 20-19, thanks to a come from behind victory to keep Dallas in the playoff hunt.
This all one day after two teammates were involved in a horrific car crash that killed Jerry Brown, with teammate Josh Brent being charged with intoxication manslaughter. Brent was released on $500,000 bond today in Irving, Texas.
The Cowboys found themselves down by nine with 6 minutes to go, when Romo found Dez Bryant for a touchdown, then Romo led a drive, setting up a 40-yard field goal by Cowboys teammate Dan Bailey for the victory as time expired. Emotions ran high all day on the Cowboys sideline.
Head Coach Jason Garrett said after the game, "I spoke to the team about the value of a teammate, and I have been fortunate to have been on a lot of teams in my life, and I think that word teammate is very very special, and Jerry was one of our teammates." Quarterback Tony Romo, who threw for 268 yards, added "It's really something I have never experienced, and I think a lot of the guys would tell you the same thing, it's just been a roller coaster of emotions."
