EL Paso, TX — The six members of the UTEP women’s golf team combined to post a 3.663 grade point average at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year. The Miners’ team GPA ranked no. 13 nationally among all colleges and universities, based on figures released by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) this week.
Lee University compiled the top team GPA (3.955), followed by Findlay (3.837), Alabama (3.806), Angelo State (3.772), Dartmouth (3.741), Lynn (3.737), Drury (3.722), Louisville (3.711), IPFW (3.675), Arkansas (3.670), Otterbein (3.666), Utah Valley (3.666) and UTEP.
Four Miners (Emma Burman, Emma Edin, Nathalie Gallacher, Camino Sardinero) compiled grade point averages of 3.70 or better.
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
